How do you get 10,000 cancer survivors and volunteers from across the nation
to Washington D.C.?
The American Cancer Society has 14 divisional offices across the U.S. each with
its own policy and approval process for travel. StarCite's attendee management solutions
bring all of these divisions together.
Celebration on the Hill 2006 -- a unique event for the American Cancer Society and
its sister organization, American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network -- brings
thousands of cancer survivors and volunteers to Washington, D.C. to highlight some
of its most important legislative priorities to Members of Congress and the rest
of the nation.
StarCite helped to get them there with a sophisticated online site designed to register
more than 10,000 and provide travel, hotel booking and payment. The site accommodated
all of the various attendee types including ambassadors, supporters, cancer volunteers,
survivors, caretakers and other guests, to name just a few. American Cancer Society
managers in each of the division offices were able to log-in to the registration
tool to run reports on their divisions, manage attendees and send invitations and
event reminders
